Q: How hard is it to get a boat when I want to sail? | A: Our membership/boat ratio is low. This makes sure that each member has plenty of time. Our goal is for you to sail as often as possible. Many of our members come back year after year because they are able to sail as much as they want. It is actually rare for members not to be able to sail! |
Q: How do I reserve a boat? | A: Our on-line reservation system allows you to log into our site and reserve a boat up to six weeks in advance. Once you click on the boat, it is reserved for you. |
Q: Can I bring my children? | A: Yes! You may bring anyone sailing with you. |
Q: Can I move up to a larger boat during the season? | A: Yes, if you decide that you would like to move up to a larger vessel during the season, we will adjust your contract. |
Q: How do you determine if my sailing skills are acceptable to take out boats on my own? | A: We will take you out on a check-out-sail upon registering. If we think that you need more work in a specific area, we can give you private instruction or recommend one of our courses. |
Q: I have been sailing for years, but do not have any formal training. Do I need to get ASA certified before I can take out a boat? | A: No, we are more interested in your ability than in certifications. If you show proficiency during the check-out-sail, then you will be able to sail on your own. |
